The Easy Touch uses low voltage to check for opens, shorts, and miswires. If necessary, a high voltage test is performed to ensure sufficient insulation and find potential defects. None of these tests cause any damage to the cable or components.

Because the tester has a built in Windows operating system, the entire test system is self-contained. The user can control security, reporting, and save data for monitoring. More complex features like scripting can be implemented without connecting the tester to a separate computer.
